why zap the old pmu?
If you've been having Permanent Makeup refreshed every 2-3 years, there will come a point where you will be faced with one or all of the following:
- Colour is moving towards ash/green/blue/red tones
- The shape is no longer a thing of love.
- The refreshes/colour boosts are losing the colour after 3-6 months
Point 2; is a case of aesthetics, perhaps the brow shape was a little too bold for your bone structure or features and simply require refinement. This can usually be remedied in one session.
Points 1 & 3 will likely be caused by over saturation of pigment. Much like a cup full of liquid, your skin cells (macrophages, fibroblasts & some extracellular tissue) cannot absorb any more pigment; so it doesn't.
The only effective option is to remove some pigment by breaking it down into fine particles (with laser) for your immune & lymphatic systems to process and expel.
Laser removal sessions are repeated every 6-12 weeks until your target level of lightening is reached.
